Miss Nightingale the musical is produced by Mr Bugg Presents an artisan theatre company based in Sheffield – “Britain’s very own award-winning centre of musical excellence” Sound of Musicals, BBC4 – which specialises in new and original British musical theatre.

Previous Productions

A chamber version of Miss Nightingale the musical, Directed by the writer Matthew Bugg, premiered at The Lowry Studio on 20 January 2011 before transferring to The King’s Head Theatre, London for a four week run.  The production proved very successful with audiences, becoming the first musical to enjoy a sold-out run at The Lowry Studio and the best-selling late night production to be staged at The King’s Head Theatre.  The production was revived in a full-scale and extensively re-worked version for a major UK tour in 2013 in a brand new production by Mister Bugg Presents in co-production with the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich and in association with the Lowry, Salford Quays and Directed by Peter Rowe.  It opened at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich on 2 May 2013 before touring the UK until the end of July that year.  The show was re-staged in 2014 again produced by Mister Bugg Presents in a co-production with the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich and in association with The National Fairground Archive and Cast, Doncaster.  It was re-Directed by Peter Rowe and opened at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich on 27 May 2014 and toured the UK until 3 May 2014. The show was revived for two further tours in 2015, from 30 September to 31 October, and 2016, from 13 January to 20 February, Directed by Karen Simpson in a Mister Bugg Presents and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds Production with Cast, Doncaster and the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.
